Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Kayaks Only, Basically
This is an 11-acre lake — leave the bass boat at home. A canoe or kayak is the move here. One lane, one trailer spot, and the lake is so shallow you'd be dragging a prop through weeds the whole time anyway.
Extremely Shallow Throughout
We're talking maybe 3-4 feet in most spots, weedy bottom everywhere by midsummer. It's subject to winter kill, so fish populations can be hit or miss from year to year. If you're coming for pike, spring is your best bet before the weeds take over.
Vault Toilets Are Rough
There's a vault toilet on site, but don't expect much. It's administered by Young State Park and clearly doesn't get the same attention. Bring your own supplies and lower your expectations.
Peaceful Hidden Gem
The upside of a tiny shallow lake with one trailer spot? You'll probably have the whole place to yourself. It's tucked away in Antrim County, dead quiet, and genuinely pretty. Great spot if you just want to paddle around and decompress without seeing another soul.
Parking Is Deceptive
The gravel lot is bigger than you'd expect for a place with only one official trailer spot — decent turnaround room for backing in. But it's really designed for small trailers. Don't show up with a 20-foot rig thinking you'll make it work.
