Wilson Lake is a small Upper Chain lake connected to Ellsworth Lake upstream and flowing downstream through Benway and Hanley lakes to Intermediate Lake. The Wilson DNR Access is a water trail trailhead — Section 3 of the Upper Chain Route (Wilson to Thurston Park in Central Lake) is a 4-mile beginner paddle through Benway and Hanley lakes.
