Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Ramp Condition Varies
The concrete ramp has seen better days — sections are cracked and rough. The angle is actually decent for a small-town launch, but inspect the surface before you back down, especially if you're on a trailer with smaller tires.
No Real Parking
There are no designated trailer spots here. You're basically pulling off to the side and hoping nobody blocks you in. Fine for a cartop kayak or jet ski on a weekday, but don't plan on leaving a truck and trailer for hours.
Small Pond, Deep Drop
Don't let the mill pond size fool you — the water drops off surprisingly fast right off the ramp. Good news for launching, but keep that in mind if you've got kids wading near the dock. Water clarity is excellent, and you can see the bottom transition clearly.
Best For Small Craft
This is a jet ski and small boat spot, not somewhere you're putting in a 20-footer. The pond is sheltered so you'll never deal with chop, but the waterway is limited. Think of it as a quick access point to poke around, not a serious fishing launch.
Fish Cleaning Station
There's a cleaning station with running water that stays open — a legit perk for a spot this small. Lot of smallmouth bass come through here, though the mill pond connects to the Boyne River system so you'll see some variety depending on the season.
