Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Carry-In Only
There's no ramp here — zero lanes, no trailer parking. This is a carry-in spot for canoes, kayaks, and tubes. If you're trying to put a trailered boat in the Manistee, look elsewhere.
Paddle Trip Staging
This is a popular put-in for multi-day paddle trips downstream toward Mesick. The bank access is easy and gradual — you literally walk your boat down and slide it in. Hard to beat for simplicity.
Parking Is Informal
No designated trailer spots, but there's enough shoulder and cleared area for a handful of vehicles. On summer weekends you might see 8-10 cars lined up, but it rarely feels packed since people are launching and leaving quickly.
Seasonal Amenities Only
There's a porta potty during the warmer months, but don't count on it being there once fall sets in. Hartwick Pines administers the site from a distance, so maintenance visits aren't exactly frequent. Bring what you need.
