Crowding Spawn season (February–April) fills the lot early; 39 trailer spots absorb a lot the rest of the year. Expect extra company Monday–Thursday of the first full week of each month through September 2026, when the neighboring Headwaters ramp closes and this lot is the designated alternative.

The nearest alternatives launch onto DIFFERENT lakes: the Headwaters Boat Ramp (Fellsmere Reservoir, also off Fellsmere Grade Road — closed Mon–Thu of the first full week of each month through Sept 2026) and SJRWMD's C-54 canal ramp. Middleton's Fish Camp on Blue Cypress Lake is the area's full-service fallback.

Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
The Only Door
Every trailer on this famous water funnels through this one free lot: two concrete lanes, floating dock, 39 trailer spots, a composting toilet, and five miles of concrete-powder gravel road to get here. There is no ramp B on this lake — if the gate's your worry, have Headwaters or Blue Cypress in your back pocket.
The Airboat Ramp
About 120 yards east-northeast of the main lanes sits a dedicated airboat ramp — wood planks over concrete, one lane, no dock, run by the District with the Corps as partner. Airboats are part of this lake's culture (unlike Headwaters next door, where they're banned), so expect the sound at dawn.
Kayaks off the Banks
Paddlers use the bank areas flanking the two ramp lanes — no separate kayak facility, and none needed. The standing local advice: big resident gators hold in the coves along the tree line, don't corner one in a kayak, and respect how far a storm can strand you from this lot.
The Free Spoonbill Show
The Stick Marsh Critical Wildlife Area rookery islands sit in plain view of the parking lot — roseate spoonbills, egrets, tricolored herons, anhingas, hundreds strong around nesting season. Islands closed year-round, water buffer closed Jan 1 – Jul 31; the lot itself is one of Florida's easiest world-class birding stops.
