Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Carry-In Only
Despite being listed as a launch, this is strictly carry-in. Don't bother bringing a trailer — the single spot is barely usable, and there's no real ramp to speak of. Canoes and kayaks only.
Rough Access Road
The road in will test your patience and your suspension. It's rutted, narrow, and gets worse after rain. Low-clearance vehicles are going to have a bad time, especially in spring.
River Is Short Both Ways
Once you're on the water, you don't have a ton of river to explore from this access point. Plan on a short paddle rather than an all-day float. Great for a quiet morning with a kayak, but manage your expectations.
Outhouse Is Done
The vault toilet is condemned and hasn't been maintained — it's literally slated for demolition. Plan accordingly before you drive out here. There are no other facilities.
Gorgeous But Primitive
This is deep UP backcountry — brook trout water, beautiful scenery, and absolute solitude. But it's essentially forgotten by maintenance crews. Come for the peace and the scenery, not for any kind of amenities. Mosquitoes are brutal from late May through July.
