Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny Lot Fills Fast
Six trailer spots is all you get, and on summer weekends the lot is packed by 9 AM. Scuba divers share this launch with anglers, so you're competing for space with folks hauling dive gear too. Weekday mornings are your best bet if you want a stress-free launch.
Sandbar Ahead
There's a sandbar out from the launch area that's shallow enough for kids to wade on. Great for families, but be aware of it when you're motoring out — trim up until you clear it, especially later in summer when levels drop.
Ramp Is Decent
Concrete ramp in solid shape for a single-lane site bought by the DNR back in the '50s. It handles small to mid-size boats fine, but with one lane and no dock, you'll want to be efficient on a busy day — nobody wants to be that person blocking the only ramp.
Gravel Lot, No Frills
Unimproved gravel parking, a vault toilet, and that's about it. No courtesy dock, no fish cleaning station. It's a bare-bones access point, so bring everything you need. The toilet is there and functional, which draws locals who stop in regularly even when they're not launching.
