Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Low Water Warning
Water levels run low here, especially mid-to-late summer. If you're bringing anything with a deeper draft, you might scrape bottom at the end of the ramp. Smaller boats and kayaks handle it fine.
Quiet Little Spot
This is a small, no-fuss lake in Montcalm County — not a destination for big weekend crowds. One lane and 15 trailer spots is plenty because you're rarely competing with anyone. Weekday mornings you might have the whole lake to yourself.
Don't Get Confused
There's a spot at the beginning of Swan Creek — sometimes called Swan's Pond — that people mix up with the actual Swan Lake launch. If you're navigating by photos online, double-check you're heading to the right location. The creek does connect to the lake, but they're not the same access point.
Solid Ice Fishing Draw
Come winter, this lake gets decent hardwater traffic. Panfish and bass through the ice are the main draw. The launch area gives you easy walk-on access once things freeze up, and the 15-spot lot handles the snowmobile trailers and shanty haulers without much issue.
Clean and Easy
The ramp itself is straightforward — no weird angles, no tight turnaround. For a little rural launch that's been around since the 1950s, it's held up well. Good option if you want a mellow day on the water without the circus of bigger Montcalm County lakes.
