Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Washboard Road In
The gravel road getting here is rough — serious washboard sections that'll rattle your trailer. Take it slow, especially if you're towing anything light. Not the kind of road you want to rush.
Barely a Launch
This is a tiny rustic access point, not a developed ramp. You're putting in small boats, kayaks, canoes — don't show up expecting to back a 20-footer down a concrete ramp. Four trailer spots fills the parking situation completely, and that's shared with the seven campground sites.
Flooding and Soft Ground
Spring and wet periods can turn the shoreline and sites into standing water. The whole area sits low and drains poorly. If it's been raining, expect soft ground near the water's edge — you don't want to get a trailer stuck in that.
Friday Night Squeeze
Only seven campsites total, and they fill by Friday evening in summer. If you're just coming to launch and not camp, a Friday or Saturday morning means competing with campers for that tiny parking area. Midweek is a completely different experience — you'll likely have the lake to yourself.
Skip the Water Pump
There's a hand pump for drinking water, but it comes out with a dark yellow-green tint that doesn't inspire confidence. Bring all your own water — don't count on it.
