Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Ramp Is Rough
That asphalt dates back to 1973 and it shows — cracked, uneven, and crumbling in spots. Fine for a small aluminum boat or kayak, but I wouldn't drag a heavy fiberglass rig over it without wincing.
Tight Squeeze
One lane at 12 feet wide with no pier, so loading and unloading is a solo operation. If someone's already on the ramp, you're just sitting there waiting. Get there early or be patient.
Parking Fills Fast
Only about 5 trailer spots, so on any decent summer weekend you're out of luck by mid-morning. This isn't a place you roll up to at noon on a Saturday expecting to find a spot.
Crystal Clear Panfish
The water lives up to the name — visibility is excellent and bluegill are everywhere. Don't expect trophy bass though; the lake gets fished pretty hard for its size. Great spot to take a kid with a bobber and worms.
Outhouse Warning
The pit toilet here is genuinely bad — one of the worst in Van Buren County. Handle your business before you arrive or bring your own supplies. You've been warned.
