Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Parking Is Chaos
Only 8 spots and nothing's striped or marked. Some people parallel park, others pull straight in at angles. On a Saturday morning with 5-6 rigs in there, turning a trailer around gets tight real fast. Come early or come on a weekday.
Quiet Little Lake
Fine Lake doesn't draw big crowds, which is honestly its best feature. Even on decent weather weekends you're unlikely to find the lot full. It's a low-pressure spot if you just want to get on the water without the circus.
Single Lane, Good Dock
One lane with a dock on the port side, which makes solo launches pretty smooth. The ramp is serviceable but with only one lane, if somebody's struggling to load, you're just sitting there. No way around them.
Rec Area Permit Required
This falls under Fort Custer State Recreation Area, so you need a valid state park passport or day pass to park here. Easy to forget since it doesn't feel like a state facility — just a small lot with an outhouse.
