Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Parking Fills Fast
28 trailer spots sounds reasonable until a summer weekend hits — this place gets slammed. Bass tournaments make it even worse, with guys clogging the lot just hanging around chatting between flights. If the lot's full, your best bet is parking over by the beach near Buddy's Restaurant and getting picked up by boat.
Pothole Minefield
The drives are paved but the gravel parking bays are rough, and the paved sections have deep potholes that'll jar your trailer. Take it slow pulling in or you'll feel it. DNR knows about it but hasn't addressed it yet.
Ramp Surface Worn
Two concrete lanes with a decent dock between them, so launching moves along. But the ramp surface itself is beat up — rough enough that you'll notice it under your tires. Functional, just not pretty.
Watch the Channels
Jordan has two main channels worth knowing about. One leads to a spillway and gets very shallow — easy to run aground if you're not paying attention. The other dead-ends into swamp. Stick to the main body of the lake unless you're in a kayak or running a jet drive.
Tournament Weekends
When bass tournaments are running, expect congestion at the ramp and attitude from competitors who act like they own the place. You'll also find dead bass floating around afterward, which tells you everything about how those fish get handled. If you can, check local tournament schedules and plan around them.
