Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Spring Flooding
This site floods every spring — it's been a known issue since the '50s. If you show up in March or April after snowmelt, the ramp and parking area can be partially underwater. Give it a couple weeks after the thaw before you count on it.
Single Lane, Manageable
One lane with 16 trailer spots, so weekends can get a little backed up, but it sorts itself out pretty quickly. This isn't a high-pressure lake — most folks here are easygoing and will work with you.
Ramp Condition
Concrete ramp in decent shape, and the dock holds up well. Nothing fancy, but functional. It handles small to mid-size boats without issue — just don't try to muscle anything over 20 feet through here.
Yankee Springs Perk
Being part of Yankee Springs Rec Area means the surroundings are clean and well-maintained compared to some of the more neglected county launches in Barry. No launch fee, outhouse on-site, and the whole area has that quiet state-land feel that's hard to beat on a weekday morning.
