Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Not a Boat Launch
Despite showing up as a launch, there's no real ramp here. Large rocks line the water's edge and there's zero infrastructure for trailered boats. Don't drive out here expecting to put a bass boat in.
Kayaks and Canoes Only
This is strictly a hand-carry spot. You can wrestle a kayak or canoe down to the water without too much trouble, but anything bigger than that isn't happening. Think of it as a river access point, not a launch.
No Parking Infrastructure
There are no designated trailer spots — which makes sense since you can't trailer-launch anyway. Street parking or a small pull-off is about all you've got, so keep your footprint small.
Decent Thornapple Access
If you're paddling the Thornapple through the Middleville stretch, this works fine as a put-in or take-out. The river runs shallow through here in late summer, so watch for gravel bars and keep your skeg up.
