Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Walleye Hotspot Access
This launch drops you right into the best walleye jigging stretch on the Saginaw River. Spring and fall runs bring serious crowds, but with 10 lanes and 159 trailer spots, it handles the pressure better than any other ramp on this river.
Protected Ramp Area
The ramp sits off the main river current, which is a huge deal on the Saginaw. You can load and unload solo without your trailer getting pushed around. That alone makes it worth the drive past other launches.
Watch The Shallows
Water depth at the ramp can get thin, especially late summer and into fall when levels drop. If you're running a deeper-draft boat, stick to the middle lanes and pay attention before you back in.
The USS Edson Factor
You can't miss the decommissioned Navy destroyer parked right next to the launch — the USS Edson sits there like it's supervising the whole operation. Makes the place easy to find and honestly pretty cool to look at while you're rigging up.
Fee Setup
$5 daily or $35 for the year. There's a staffed booth and pay station, plus a building with three bathrooms — a legit facility, not a porta-john situation. For what you get here, the fee is a no-brainer compared to fighting for a free ramp somewhere else.
