Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny & Quiet
This is a small, tree-enclosed lake with almost no boat traffic. Perfect for kayaks, canoes, and small fishing boats — don't bother bringing anything with serious horsepower. It's basically a paddle lake.
Very Limited Parking
Three trailer spots is all you get. For a lake this quiet, that's usually fine on weekdays, but a sunny weekend afternoon could leave you out of luck. Get there early if you're trailering in.
Cold Water Surprise
The lake stays surprisingly cold even into mid-August — likely spring-fed. Great for a refreshing dip but worth knowing if you're planning to swim or wade while fishing.
No Facilities
There's no restroom at the launch. Interlochen State Park administers the site, but don't expect any amenities down here. Plan accordingly before you make the trip.
Ramp Is Bare Bones
Single lane, built back in the late '50s with minimal investment. It works for light craft but don't expect a polished concrete ramp. Check the surface before you back down — older ramps like this can deteriorate in spots.
