Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Gravel Road Warning
You've got about a mile and a half of gravel road to get back here. It'll kick up rocks and ping your boat, trailer, and tow vehicle. Slow down and give yourself some distance behind anyone ahead of you.
Steep Ramp Surprise
They put in a new ramp, but it's steep — noticeably steep. If you're backing a heavier boat, make sure your tow vehicle has the traction to pull back up, especially when it's wet. After rain, the area around the ramp gets muddy and slick.
Kayak Float Goldmine
This is the go-to drop-in for a 4-hour float down to Riverview Park. Gorgeous, quiet stretch of the St. Joe with varied water the whole way. You'll share the launch with some power boats, but there's plenty of room for everyone.
Just A Launch
Don't come here expecting a park — it's a boat launch and that's it. No pavilions, no trails, just a ramp and some river bank. The surrounding area is farmland, so if the map makes it look bigger, that's just corn. Good shore fishing spots right at the launch, though, with about 5 feet of water at the ramp.
Off The Beaten Path
The rural location keeps crowds way down compared to launches closer to town. Even on weekends you're unlikely to wait. It's a solid mid-river access point if you want to fish upstream sections that the city launches can't reach easily.
