Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Watch The Left Lane
One side of the ramp is a proper concrete launch; the other is basically a sand surface. If you're backing in blind, stick to the right lane or you'll be spinning tires in soft bottom.
Midlake Shoals Are Real
Coldwater Lake has a couple of sneaky shallow spots right out in the middle where you absolutely can run aground. Not just skinny-water shallows — full-on sandbars that'll stop a prop dead. If you don't know the lake, idle until you get a feel for the depth contours.
Parking Is Rarely An Issue
61 trailer spots for a lake this size means you're almost never fighting for a space. Even on a holiday Saturday I've pulled in and had my pick. It's one of the more stress-free launches in Branch County.
Quick In, Quick Out
The ramp area is well-maintained and the approach is straightforward — no tight turns, no confusing layout. You can be off the trailer and on the water in minutes. Nice spot for a day trip if you're looking for something low-hassle south of Battle Creek.
