Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rarely Crowded
Nineteen trailer spots might sound tight, but this launch barely fills up even on summer weekends. I've never had to wait for a lane here — it's one of the quieter spots in Ogemaw County.
Aging Infrastructure
The ramp and facilities date back decades, and the development work is well past its useful life. The concrete is serviceable but don't expect anything polished — give the ramp surface a once-over before you back in, especially later in the season.
Good For Small Boats
Two lanes and two dock tie-offs make this a solid spot for smaller rigs — bass boats, jon boats, and pontoons under 20 feet. Easy to maneuver in and out without a spotter. Bigger boats can launch but you'll feel the squeeze in the parking area.
Panfish Destination
Lake George is a solid panfish lake — bluegill and crappie are the main draw. If you're looking for a low-key day on the water rather than chasing big walleye, this is the kind of place you want.
