Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rock Off Ramp
There's a big rock sitting just off to the side of the ramp. If you drift even a little while launching or loading, you'll find it. Keep your trailer centered and you'll be fine, but it's caught people off guard.
Parking Across Road
The parking lot is across the road from the ramp itself. You launch, then pull your trailer back across to park. Not a huge deal with light traffic, but on summer weekends you're crossing a road with a wet trailer while cars are coming through. Just be aware of it.
Narrow Single Lane
It's a tight one-lane ramp, so if someone's struggling to load, everybody waits. Early mornings on weekdays you'll have it to yourself. Weekend afternoons can stack up a few rigs, but 20 trailer spots rarely fill — this lake doesn't draw big crowds.
Restroom Gamble
There's a vault toilet on site. Sometimes it's perfectly fine, sometimes it's an absolute horror show. The maintenance schedule seems inconsistent, so don't count on it being usable. Plan accordingly.
Quiet Lake, Good Fishing
Randall Lake is a hidden gem if you want to avoid the chaos of bigger Branch County lakes. It's a solid fishing lake without the jet ski armada you'd deal with somewhere like Coldwater Lake. Great spot for a pontoon day or working the shoreline in a bass boat.
