Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Shallow At Ramp
The water at the launch point is genuinely shallow — we're talking ankle-deep in spots during late summer. If you're running anything with a lower unit that drafts more than a couple feet, you might be dragging bottom. Push off quick and idle out carefully.
Steep Drop-In
The concrete ramp has a surprisingly steep grade for a single-lane launch. Combine that with the shallow water at the bottom and low water levels, and you've got a tricky combo — make sure your vehicle has good traction, especially when pulling out a wet trailer.
Five Spots, Gone Fast
Five trailer spots is all you get, and on summer weekends they fill by mid-morning. If you're not there early, you're circling or improvising. Weekday mornings are a completely different experience — practically empty.
Submerged Trees North Side
Stay alert on the north side of the lake. There are submerged trees and stumps lurking just below the surface that'll ruin your prop or worse. Stick to the middle and south until you've run the lake enough times to know where they are.
Pit Toilet Warning
The outhouse is there, but by winter it's completely full and stays that way until spring. If you're ice fishing here, plan accordingly — there's no relief coming from that pit toilet until the DNR services it after the thaw.
