Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Three Spots, That's It
With only 3 trailer spots, you're out of luck if even two other people had the same idea. On summer weekends, get there early morning or you'll be improvising on the shoulder. Most days though, you might have the whole place to yourself.
Electric Only
No gas engines allowed — DNR does patrol this lake and will check. Bring your trolling motor and enjoy the quiet. It keeps the traffic way down, which is honestly the best thing about Ackley.
Shallow And Mucky Bottom
The lake runs shallow with a soft, mucky bottom, especially closer to shore. Take it easy backing in — the ramp transitions to silt pretty quick. Smaller boats and kayaks do best here; don't expect to draft much.
Solitude Lake
This isn't a destination launch — it's the spot you go when you want to be alone on the water. Most weekday mornings you'll have the entire lake to yourself. Don't come here expecting a scene; come here expecting peace and quiet.
