Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Ramp Surface
The asphalt is in poor shape — cracked and uneven enough that you'll feel it under your trailer tires. There are 1x12 planks laid down as part of the ramp surface, so take it slow backing in. Not a place you want to rush with a heavy boat.
Tiny Lot Fills Fast
Eight trailer spots is all you get. On a summer Saturday, that lot can fill by mid-morning. If you're planning a weekend trip to Homer Lake, get there early or have a backup plan — there's no real overflow area.
Small Lake, Small Boats
Homer Lake is modest-sized, so this launch is really suited for jon boats, kayaks, and small fishing rigs. Don't haul anything big out here expecting a grand experience. It's a quiet local spot, and that's the charm.
Dock Needs Work
The dock has seen better days — boards are weathered and it feels sketchy underfoot. Fine for tying off while you park your trailer, but I wouldn't hang out on it longer than you need to.
