Parking Nightmare
Six trailer spots for one of the most popular lakes in Cass County — do the math. On summer weekends, trucks and trailers spill out onto the side road, clogging everything up. If you show up after 9 AM on a Saturday, you may not even be able to turn around, let alone park.
Single Lane Bottleneck
One lane in, one lane out. When the lake is busy, tempers flare at the ramp because everyone's waiting on the same narrow strip of concrete. Have your boat prepped and ready to drop before you back down, or you're going to make enemies fast.
Weekday Mornings Only
If you want a stress-free launch, hit this place on a weekday morning. The lake itself is great — good smallmouth action, nice for paddling — but the access point just can't handle weekend volume. By mid-morning on any decent summer day, it's a zoo.
Dock Fishing Is Solid
If you're not trailering a boat, the pier is actually a nice spot to wet a line. Smallmouth hang around the dock area and you can hook up quick. Good option for a casual evening trip without dealing with the launch chaos.
Ramp Itself Is Fine
Credit where it's due — the concrete ramp is in decent shape and the DNR keeps the area maintained. There's an outhouse on site but no trash cans, so pack your stuff out. The launch isn't the problem here; it's just wildly undersized for how popular Corey Lake is.
