Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
No Dock Here
There's no pier or dock — just a gravel ramp straight into the water. If you're solo launching, be ready to get your feet wet holding the bow line. A small jon boat or kayak is easy enough, but anything bigger and you'll want a partner.
Quiet Water Gem
Harwood Lake doesn't get much boat traffic at all. You can fish mid-morning on a Saturday in summer and still have most of the lake to yourself. It's the kind of spot where you actually hear the birds between casts.
Tight On Parking
Eight trailer spots fills up fast if even a handful of people show up on a holiday weekend. That said, most days you won't have competition. This isn't a lake people are driving across the county to hit.
Gravel Ramp Condition
The ramp surface is gravel, not concrete. It holds up fine for lighter rigs, but if we get a wet spring the edges can soften up and get rutty. Two-wheel drive trucks can manage in dry conditions, but don't push it after heavy rain.
