Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny Lot, Plan Ahead
Six trailer spots disappear fast on summer weekends. If you're not there by 8 AM on a Saturday, you're parking on the grass shoulder and hoping nobody blocks you in.
Single Lane Bottleneck
One lane means you're taking turns launching and loading. On a calm Sunday morning it's fine, but holiday weekends turn into a 20-minute wait while someone figures out their trailer backing skills.
Quiet Little Lake
This is a small, low-traffic lake — mostly locals and island residents using the ramp. If you want solitude in a kayak or a small bass boat, this is the spot. Don't bother bringing anything over 18 feet.
Shallow Near the Ramp
Water gets thin at the end of the ramp by late summer. If we haven't had much rain, you'll be scraping your skeg on the way out. A jon boat or small aluminum is ideal here — deep-V hulls with a heavy draft can struggle.
