Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Parking Is War
Eleven trailer spots on paper, but it feels more like 6-8 usable ones once kayakers park their cars and SUVs in trailer-length spaces. Weekends fill up fast and people start parking on the grass, boxing in trucks that are actually hooked to trailers. Get here early or plan on circling.
Kayak vs Boat Tension
The kayak crowd has exploded here and there's zero separation between paddle-sport parking and trailer parking. If you're launching a boat on a Saturday, expect to jockey for position with a dozen vehicles that don't need trailer spots but are taking them anyway.
Tight Single Lane
One lane, and it's narrow enough that backing a wider bass boat takes some finesse. Not the place to practice your first launch — the line behind you won't be patient, especially on a sunny weekend.
Rec Pass Required
You need a Michigan Recreation Passport to park here. No pass, no spot — and there's enough signage that you won't be able to claim ignorance if you get ticketed.
Connected Water System
Juno connects to Christiana and Painter lakes via a creek that's solid for kayaking, which is exactly why this tiny launch draws way more traffic than its size can handle. The fishing across all three lakes is genuinely good — just know you're sharing a cramped staging area with everyone else who figured that out.
