Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Shallow at Ramp
The water right at the ramp is shallower than you'd expect for a Great Lake launch. If you're running anything with a deeper draft, idle out slowly and keep an eye on your depth finder until you're well off the ramp. An 18-footer loads and launches fine, but trim up.
Rough Road In
The access road is dusty and bumpy — not terrible, but if you've got gear rattling around in the boat, strap it down before you turn in. It's the kind of road that shakes loose anything that isn't secured.
Park Gate at 10pm
The park closes at 10pm, so if you're planning a late evening run on the bay, watch the clock. Getting locked in is the kind of hassle that ruins a good night on the water.
Parking Is Easy
Twenty-two trailer spots and it rarely fills up. This isn't a high-traffic launch like some of the more popular Saginaw Bay ramps, so even on a Saturday morning you'll find a spot without circling.
Quiet Bay Launch
This is a mellow, no-drama spot — tucked inside the park, clean ramp, porta potty on site. If you're looking for a low-key alternative to the busier launches along the bay, this one delivers. Great for early mornings when the deer are still wandering through camp.
