Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
No Trailer Parking
Three lanes but zero dedicated trailer spots — that's the catch here. You'll need to drop the boat and move your rig to nearby street parking or the general lot. Doable with two people, a real pain solo.
Downtown Proximity
Right in Sault Ste. Marie, so you're minutes from gas, food, and bait shops. That convenience is hard to beat compared to the more remote launches along the St. Marys River.
Clear Water Advantage
The water clarity here is exceptional — you can see the bottom well off the ramp. Makes it easy to spot any debris or shallow spots before you commit on the launch.
Current Awareness
You're on the St. Marys River, and current can be significant depending on flow from the locks upstream. Smaller boats under 16 feet can get pushed around near the ramp, especially during high-water periods in spring.
