Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Single Lane, Small Window
One lane and 14 trailer spots — that's it. On summer weekends the lot fills up by mid-morning, especially if the campground is busy. Weekday mornings are your best bet for a stress-free launch.
Train Noise Overnight
Rail tracks run right along the park boundary. Trains blow their horns through the night and early morning — loud enough to shake a trailer 200 feet away. Not a launch issue per se, but if you're camping here to fish early, don't count on sleeping through the night.
Fishing Pier Is Accessible
There's an accessible fishing pier on site, which is a nice bonus if you want to scout the water or let someone fish from shore while you rig the boat. The courtesy pier at the ramp itself is not accessible, so keep that in mind if anyone in your group has mobility concerns.
Campground Crowds Spill Over
This is a township campground with a playground, beach, and shower houses — families love it. That means the boat launch area shares traffic with campers, kids, and paddleboarders, especially on warm afternoons. Launch early and you'll avoid the chaos around the beach.
Winter Access Iffy
Limited access during the winter season. The road in may or may not be plowed depending on conditions, and you could find the gate closed. If you're thinking about ice fishing access, call the township first — don't just show up with a trailer in January.
