Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Basically A Driveway
This is one of the smallest launches you'll find in Clare County. Three trailer spots on paper, but in practice you're jockeying for space the moment someone else shows up. Don't bring anything bigger than a 16-footer unless you enjoy stress.
Road Backing Required
There's no real staging area — you're backing your trailer in directly off the road. Traffic isn't constant, but it only takes one car coming around while you're mid-maneuver to make things exciting. Have a spotter with you.
Tight Turnaround
Getting in is tricky enough, but pulling out with a wet trailer and a boat is the real challenge. The approach is narrow and angled, so practice your tight backing skills before you commit to this one.
Best For Small Craft
Kayaks, canoes, and small jonboats are the sweet spot here. Arnold Lake is a quiet little water and perfect for a low-key paddle, but the infrastructure matches the lake — minimal. If you're hauling a bass boat, look elsewhere.
