Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Amish Country Launch
This is shared with the local Amish community — there are hitching posts right at the launch. Don't be surprised if you're helping someone get a boat in behind a horse team. It's actually pretty cool, just be patient and friendly.
Tight But Functional
One lane and only 7 trailer spots, so this is strictly small-boat territory. A 16-footer is about as big as you'd want to bring in here. The upside is Five Lakes doesn't draw big crowds, so you're rarely competing for space.
Slippery When Wet
The ramp surface gets slick, especially closer to the waterline. Wear boots with good grip — the concrete stays mossy through most of the season and there's no courtesy dock to steady yourself on.
Quiet Weekday Gem
Weekends can fill those 7 spots by mid-morning in summer, but come on a Tuesday or Wednesday and you'll likely have the whole place to yourself. The fishing can be solid if you put in the time, and the restroom on-site is a nice bonus for a launch this small.
