Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Gravel Road Commitment
Getting in here means a stretch of gravel roads that can get rutted, especially in spring. If you're towing a big rig, take it slow — some of the turns are tight and unsigned. First-timers often miss the correct pond turnoff.
Small Boats Only
One lane, three trailer spots — this is a kayak-and-14-footer kind of place. You're not squeezing a 20-foot walleye boat in here comfortably. Perfect for a canoe or small jon boat to explore the old mine pond.
Stunning But Remote
These old mine ponds are deep, crystal-clear, and surrounded by nothing. No cell service, no lights, no crowds. Bass, bluegill, pike, and muskie are all in play. It feels like you stumbled onto a secret lake that didn't make it onto the maps.
Primitive Setup
Don't expect a courtesy dock or paved anything. The ramp is basic and the facilities are nonexistent, but you'll practically never compete for access. Weekends might see one or two other trucks — that's a busy day here.
