Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Ramp Is Rough
The single-lane ramp is in pretty beat-up condition — cracked and uneven in spots. Take it slow backing down, especially with a smaller trailer that sits low. This is strictly a small boat or kayak kind of launch, not somewhere you'd want to wrestle a 20-footer.
Zero Trailer Parking
There are no dedicated trailer spots here, full stop. You're working with whatever campground or park lot space you can find, and on busy summer weekends that lake area gets packed with beachgoers. If you're trailering in, plan on an early morning arrival or you'll be circling.
Beach Crowd Spillover
The launch sits in a county park that's really built around the campground and beach. Summer weekends — especially holidays like Memorial Day — the whole area turns into a zoo with families, kids, and jet skis. Weekday mornings are a completely different world if you want a quiet launch.
Road Noise Heads-Up
The park runs along a busy road with semi and logging truck traffic rolling through all day. It's not a wilderness experience by any stretch, but the lake itself is big enough to get away from it once you're on the water. Decent size for skiing and jet skis, though fishing is just okay — don't expect a stocked honey hole.
Artesian Well Bonus
There's an artesian well right across the road from the lake — worth filling up your cooler with fresh water on the way in. The fishing pier near the launch is a nice spot to kill time if you're waiting on a partner, and there are shaded benches by the ramp, which is a rare touch.
