Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Ramp Surface
The ramp concrete is in pretty beat-up shape — cracked and uneven in spots. Take it slow backing down, especially with a smaller trailer. It's functional but definitely showing its age.
Only 10 Trailer Spots
Ten spots fills up fast on summer weekends, especially with the campground right there generating extra traffic. If you're heading out on a Saturday morning, get there early or you'll be improvising with parking along the edges.
Great For Small Boats
Lake Antoine is big enough for skiing and jet skis but it's really a locals' lake. Two lanes handle the volume fine on weekdays. The shaded benches near the launch are a nice touch if you're waiting on someone to come off the water.
Campground Crowd Factor
This launch shares the park with a busy city campground, so peak summer weekends bring a lot of foot traffic, beach-goers, and general chaos near the ramp area. Weekday mornings are a completely different experience — peaceful and wide open.
Fishing Expectations
Don't come here expecting a stocked-up fishing destination. There are fish in Antoine, but it's more of a recreation lake. The fishing pier nearby is decent for panfish, but if you're chasing walleye or bass seriously, you've got better options in Dickinson County.
