Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Road In
The access road is genuinely rough — think washboard gravel with some potholed stretches. A truck or SUV handles it fine, but if you're towing a low-slung trailer, take it slow or you'll be bouncing gear around the whole way in.
Tiny Parking Situation
Two trailer spots is exactly what it sounds like. If even one other person is out there, you're improvising. Get there early on weekends or be ready to get creative with how you tuck in along the shoulder.
Solitude Is The Draw
This isn't the launch you pick for convenience — it's the one you pick when you want a lake mostly to yourself. Tucked back in Bewabic State Park land, it's quiet enough that you'll hear loons before you hear another motor. Small boats and kayaks are the move here.
Single Lane, No Rush
One lane, but honestly it doesn't matter. Traffic is so light you'll rarely see another trailer. The real bottleneck is just the tight turnaround area — anything over 18 feet and you'll be doing a multi-point maneuver to get lined up.
