Weekend Parking Crunch
On summer weekends and holidays, the 43 trailer spots fill by 11 AM — sometimes earlier. Once it's full, trailers end up lined down the road. Weekday afternoons are a completely different experience, practically stress-free.
Tournament Day Gridlock
When bass tournaments run here, it gets ugly. Boats line up for two-plus hours waiting to launch while tournament trailers sit parked in spots holding space for weigh-ins. If you see a tournament posted, pick a different day or head to Lobdell or Ponemah instead.
Big Water For A Small Lake
Lake Fenton kicks up more chop than you'd expect. It's a legit concern for kayakers and small boats, especially on windy afternoons. If you're in anything under 14 feet, mornings are your friend.
State Park Pass Required
This is a Seven Lakes State Park facility, so you need a Recreation Passport or day pass. There's usually an attendant at the booth in summer, but off-season the booth can be empty — have your sticker on your plate or you risk a ticket.
Better Than Nearby Options
Four concrete lanes with dock slips make this one of the smoother launches in southern Genesee County. It handles sailboats and bigger rigs without issue. The trade-off is the crowd — if you want solitude, Ponemah or Seven Lakes are quieter, but neither launches as cleanly as this one.
