Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Dangerously Short Ramp
The concrete pad going into the water is barely 20 feet long and extremely shallow. Worse, the concrete ends with a noticeable drop-off — roughly a foot in spots — onto medium-size boulders underneath. If you're running anything bigger than a small bass boat, you're risking real damage to your trailer and hull.
Cash-Only Parking Fee
The launch area charges $10/day or $45 for an annual pass, and they don't take cards or checks. Your state park permit won't cut it here — this is a township fee. Nearest cash back is the Dollar General about a mile up the road. They will tow you if you don't pay.
Free Launch Exists Nearby
There's another access point on the opposite side of the lake that doesn't charge a fee. If you're just looking to fish Lake Lancer without the hassle, that's the move — same lake, no $10 sting.
Tricky To Find
Signage getting here is basically nonexistent. The approach road is a little weird and the turn-in isn't obvious. Pull it up on GPS before you go or you'll drive right past it.
Amish Shared Use
This is one of the few launches in the state with hitching posts installed — the local Amish community uses it regularly. With only two trailer spots, a busy weekend plus a couple of horse rigs means you could be waiting or out of luck entirely.
