Houghton County, Michigan · 40 ft max depth · DNR Survey 2019

Scout's Fishing Notes

Lake Gerald is the eastern basin of the Twin Lakes system, connected to Lake Roland by a navigable channel. At 260 acres with 7.8 miles of shoreline and maximum depth of 40 feet, Gerald offers excellent panfish fishing with 319 bluegill and 94 black crappie caught in the 2019 survey. Yellow perch average slightly smaller here at 7.4 inches compared to 8.5 inches in Roland. The sandy bottom and dishpan shape create ideal panfish habitat, while the connection allows fish movement between basins depending on conditions and angler pressure.
