Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tight Access Road
The road in is narrow enough that passing oncoming traffic gets dicey — if you're pulling a trailer, someone's going to have to find a wide spot and tuck over. Go slow and expect it.
Tiny Parking Footprint
Four trailer spots is all you get. With one lane and minimal turnaround space, this isn't the place for a big rig. Small boats and kayaks are the play here.
Dam Fishing Is Legit
Both sides of the dam produce fish, and the fish ladder adds some interesting current structure. This is more of a shore-fishing and small-craft spot than a serious boat launch — treat it accordingly.
Remote But Worth It
Administered by Baraga State Park but sitting in Dickinson County, this spot feels like it's in the middle of nowhere. Don't expect amenities or cell service — just the Sturgeon River and some peace and quiet.
