Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Entrance Drive
The two-track back to the launch is long and in rough shape — low-clearance vehicles are going to have a bad time. Take it slow and expect ruts, especially after rain. A truck or SUV is pretty much mandatory.
Carry-In Only Basically
There's no actual ramp lane here and no trailer parking. This is a canoe and kayak spot, plain and simple. If you're thinking about dragging a jon boat back here, it's doable but you're muscling it down the bank yourself.
Shallow Launch Area
Water at the put-in sits around two feet deep. Fine for paddlecraft and small flat-bottoms, but anything with a real motor is going to be kissing the bottom. Late summer drops it even lower.
Solitude Is The Draw
You're not coming here for convenience — you're coming here because nobody else is. The East Branch is quiet, wooded, and feels remote even though you're not that far from civilization. Great for a slow paddle or some creek fishing without another soul around.
