Tiny But Scenic
Crystal clear water — you can see bottom at 10 feet easy. It's a beautiful little UP lake, but don't expect a crowd or much infrastructure. One lane, three trailer spots, and that's your whole operation.
Panfish Destination
This is a panfish lake, plain and simple. Bring an ultralight and small jigs. Don't haul a big walleye rig up here expecting a tournament — it's a quiet, one-species kind of spot.
Not That Fire Lake
Yes, everyone asks about the Bob Seger song. No, this isn't it — that one's about Silver Lake down in the Pinckney area. But honestly, this lake is prettier than anything in that song.
Remote Access
You're deep in Iron County on this one. The road in is manageable but not exactly well-marked. If you're coming from out of the area, pull it up on GPS ahead of time because signage is minimal. Administered by Baraga State Park, which is a solid hour-plus north, so don't expect regular maintenance visits.
