Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Extremely Limited Parking
One trailer spot — that's not a typo. If someone's already there, you're out of luck. The state park next door is your backup, but plan to arrive early on summer weekends or you'll be turning around.
Shallow Near Ramp
The water at the ramp can be surprisingly shallow, especially mid-to-late summer. If you're running anything bigger than a 16-footer with any kind of draft, you might be dragging bottom trying to launch. Smaller boats and kayaks handle it fine.
No Dock To Tie Off
There's no dock here, so you're doing the solo launch shuffle — back the trailer in, hop out, push off, then sprint to park. Bring a buddy or a long rope tied to the bow. The state park launch inside Bewabic has a dock if that's a dealbreaker for you.
Bewabic Park Perks
The upside of this rustic little launch is you're right next to Bewabic State Park, which has picnic tables, a swimming beach, a pavilion, and restrooms. Nice spot to make a day of it with the family even if the fishing's slow.
Rustic Means Rustic
DNR calls it minimally developed and they mean it. No frills, no improvements, no pavement. But it's rarely crowded and the lake stays quiet — if you just want to get a small boat on calm water without fighting a crowd, this is your spot.
