Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Parking Gets Tight
30 trailer spots sounds decent until tournament day — this lake hosts a ton of tournaments and the gravel lot fills up fast. Spots aren't striped, so people park however they want, which wastes space and makes maneuvering a trailer annoying. Get there early on weekends or you'll be circling.
Ramp Is Solid
The ramp itself is one of the better single-laners in Jackson County. Level grade, good depth at the end — you won't be dragging your skeg through muck. The dock makes solo launches easy, which is a huge plus for a one-lane setup.
Low Bridge Warning
Center Lake connects to a chain of 6-7 lakes, which is awesome, but at least one road bridge on the chain has very low clearance. Pontoons and anything with a T-top or tower won't make it through. Low-profile bass boats and runabouts slide under fine, but measure twice before you commit.
Weed Season Is Real
Mid-to-late summer the lake chokes up with weeds bad enough that you'll be stopping multiple times to clear your prop. If you're running the chain, plan on it. Early season and fall are much cleaner.
Thursday Evenings Avoid
The launch shares space with Leoni Township Community Park, which runs live bands, food trucks, and vendors on Thursday evenings all summer. The area gets packed with non-boaters and the lot becomes a zoo. Launch before 4 PM on Thursdays or just pick a different day.
