Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Bumpy Road In
The road leading to the launch is rough and rutted — take it slow, especially with a loaded trailer. It's not terrible, but it'll rattle your gear if you're not paying attention.
Small Lake, Small Lot
Five trailer spots fill fast on summer weekends, especially Saturday mornings. If you're pulling in after 9 AM on a nice day, you might be improvising on where to park. Get there early or go midweek.
Best For Small Boats
This is a small, quiet lake — perfect for kayaks, jon boats, and small fishing rigs. Don't bother bringing anything over 18 feet; you'll feel silly and you won't need it.
Crappie Honey Hole
Crispell is sneaky good for crappie. The lake's small enough that you can work the whole shoreline in a morning. The dock area doubles as a decent shore fishing spot if you don't feel like launching.
