Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Small Lake, Tight Launch
One lane with 17 trailer spots — fine for a weekday trip, but weekend mornings in summer can get tight fast. If you show up after 9 AM on a Saturday, you might be parking creative.
Keep It Modest
Pine Hills Lake isn't huge, so don't bother bringing anything over 18 feet. The ramp handles smaller aluminum boats and jon boats just fine, but you'll feel silly wrestling a big rig in here.
Quiet Water Gem
This is one of those Jackson County spots that flies under the radar. You won't deal with the jet ski circus you get at the bigger lakes — it's a solid pick when you just want to fish without the chaos.
Seasonal Depth Watch
Later in the summer the water near the ramp can get shallow and silty. If we've had a dry stretch, take it slow backing in — the last few feet can surprise you with soft bottom that'll grab your tires.
