Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Steep Hill In
The road down to the ramp drops pretty sharply — if you've got a tall boat on the trailer, take it slow and watch your clearance. Walking back up to the parking area after launching is a legit hike, especially in summer heat.
Ramp Runs Shallow
The two-lane ramp is paved and in decent shape, but it could stand to be a bit deeper at the end. Larger boats on lower water days might need some extra effort getting off the trailer. Mid-summer levels can make this noticeable.
Kayak-Friendly Connector
If you paddle, this is a gem — you can launch here and slip under the bridge into the canal system connecting to neighboring lakes. Makes for a solid full-day trip. Just be ready for some impatient powerboaters at the ramp if you're loading or unloading a kayak during peak hours.
Weekend Crowd Factor
Thirty trailer spots sounds generous, but on a nice Saturday this lake draws a crowd — jet skis, ski boats, everything. The lake itself isn't huge, so it feels packed fast. Weekday mornings are a different world if you're fishing.
Finger Dock Heads-Up
The DNR rebuilt the finger dock not long ago and it's generally solid, but a couple of the posts have already loosened up. It's functional, just don't lean hard on anything that looks wobbly.
