Shared Parking Squeeze
The 10 trailer spots are technically designated for Jackson Hole, but the lot is shared with the Whitford-Lawler Lake launch. On summer weekends, you can roll in at 9 AM and find it already spoken for by anglers hitting either lake. Get there early or have a Plan B.
Single Lane Patience
One lane in, one lane out. If somebody's fumbling with their trailer, you're just sitting there. Keep your rig tight and be ready to launch fast — courtesy matters a lot at a spot this small.
Fort Custer Rules Apply
This falls under Fort Custer State Recreation Area, so you need a Rec Passport on your vehicle. The signage at the site references state park rules, not standard DNR Waterways rules, which can throw you off if you're expecting the usual setup.
More Hiking Lake Than Fishing Lake
Jackson Hole draws a lot of foot traffic from people just walking the shoreline trail. It's a peaceful little lake, but don't expect a serious fishing launch culture here — you're sharing the vibe with hikers and nature walkers, especially on nice afternoons.
Small Boats Only
This is a kayak-and-canoe kind of lake. You can squeeze a small jon boat down the single lane, but anything over 16 feet is going to feel ridiculous here. Perfect for a quiet morning on the water with minimal fuss.
