Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Spring Flooding
The DNR isn't kidding about spring floods here. When the Grand and Rogue are both running high, the ramp and lower parking area can go completely underwater. I've seen it unusable well into April some years. Check river levels before making the drive.
Confluence Sweet Spot
You're launching right where the Rogue dumps into the Grand, which makes this a killer spot for staging upstream or downstream runs. Smallmouth, walleye, muskie — and when the salmon and steelhead are running in fall, this place gets serious traffic.
Parking Holds Up
37 trailer spots is generous for a launch like this, and on a normal weekday you'll have your pick. Weekends during salmon season are a different story — get there early or you'll be circling. No real overflow option nearby.
Seasonal Amenities Only
There's a porta potty out here, but it's seasonal. If you're launching in late fall or early spring, plan accordingly. The rest of the year it's reliably stocked and reasonably maintained.
Two-Lane Efficiency
Two lanes keep things moving even when it's busy, and the ramp itself handles normal river boats and jon boats without drama. Just be mindful of current at the mouth — the Rogue pushes hard after rain and can shove you sideways while you're loading.
