Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Steps Are Busted
The concrete steps down to the river were damaged as of August 2025, and there's a second set to the south that's in equally rough shape. You're basically scrambling down a bank to get to the water. Not ideal if you're hauling a loaded kayak.
Kayak Only Access
No ramp, no lanes, no trailer parking — this is strictly a carry-down spot for kayaks, canoes, and waders. Works great as a put-in or take-out for Rogue River floats. About 3.5 hours downstream from Gougeburg Landing with minimal paddling, or 1.5 hours upstream of the Rockford Footwear Depot.
Spring Flooding
The site floods in spring, and it's not subtle. The whole access area can go underwater when the Rogue is running high. Plan your early-season trips with that in mind — late April through mid-May can be a total wash.
Parking Across The Road
There's no lot on the river side — you park across the road in a small pull-off area. Space is limited to maybe a handful of cars, but honestly the site doesn't draw huge crowds so you'll usually find a spot. Just don't expect room for a trailer.
Quick-Hit Fishing Spot
This is a lunchbreak fishing spot, plain and simple. Right off 12 Mile Road, easy to reach, and the stretch holds stocked trout — mostly small ones, but keepers show up. It does see regular foot traffic from other anglers, so don't expect solitude.
